Canadian Artist-Merch Demand Index (Summer 2026)
6ix Merchandise is a Toronto streetwear label that ships artist-inspired hoodies and tees across Canada. Because we sell to fans in every province, our search data offers an early read on which artists Canadians are actively shopping for right now. This is our first Canadian Artist-Merch Demand Index: a snapshot of the artists driving the most merch search interest across our catalogue this summer, and the ones climbing fastest.
The headline: football is the breakout category
Hip-hop still owns the top of the volume chart, with A$AP Rocky, J. Cole, Drake and Jay-Z leading the way. But the fastest-rising demand this summer is not rap at all. Footballers are the breakout story: Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Lamine Yamal and Cristiano Ronaldo all posted the steepest climbs in the index, a signal that Canadian merch demand is following the sport's rising profile here ahead of the 2026 World Cup on home soil.

Methodology
Figures are drawn from Google Search Console impression data for 6ixmerchandise.ca over the 28 days ending 20 July 2026, compared against the prior 28 days. Impressions count how often our pages appeared in Canadian search results for artist-merch queries, so the index reflects demand as seen through one Canadian retailer's catalogue rather than the entire market. Artist names were normalised across query variants (for example "asap rocky merch", "asap rocky hoodie", "asap rocky shirt"). Growth rates for the fastest risers are calculated only where an artist held meaningful current volume, to avoid inflating small bases. The index is directional, and we plan to refresh it each season.
A note from the founder
6ix Merchandise started in a Scarborough basement with a heat press and a short list of artists we actually listened to. Watching football stars climb this index faster than rappers was the surprise of the summer, and it is the kind of shift that is easy to miss if you only read the charts. We publish this index because the demand signal belongs to the fans, and because Canadian streetwear deserves data that reflects what people here are really searching for.
